The problem

The solution

On 26 June 2024, we lodged a formal complaint to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), who initially told us to expect a wait of around 14-15 months. To complicate things, Portal Financial Services LLP had ceased trading, and their liquidators didn’t have any client files to share. Then, when he experienced a workplace accident that put him out of work for three months, we successfully argued that his claim needed priority treatment.
Rightfully, the FSCS agreed.

On 25 February 2025, only 8 months after submitting the mis-sold pension claim – far quicker than the expected wait – we secured £16,962.51 in compensation for Mr. M, giving him the financial boost he needed.
